bumassjeff Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 im planning on getting an 18" btl in a few weeks and i purchased my wood to get things rolling but i ran into a port issue it seems no matter what i try to tune the port to the port is just to long. im not sure if the site im using is 100% correct or not. the box will b 7.15 cubes and the measurements of the inside of the box are 14 x 31 x 28.5. the sub is going to be mounted on the top of the box and was hoping to tune it to something low like 30 to 38 but not sure if its looking to end up like that. if anyone could help me figure it out it would be greatly appreciated thx!

EricR Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 well....the dimensions you stated is only 6.5 cubes with no port....try using RE's calculator.....http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

bumassjeff Posted June 21, 2007 Author Report Posted June 21, 2007 i cant use an L shaped port cuz im building the box in my trunk so im using 2 x 2s all around to hold it together n if i have a port to the side like that there will b an ugly 2 x 2 in the way know any other port calcs?
