tequila Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 How far should an aero port be from the back wall of an enclosure? Would this be the same rule of thumb as a slot ported box, distance = width of the port? Ive been looking at going aero ported to save a little net size compared to L-Slot ported boxes.. bobonit Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 1/2 the diameter of the port at a minimum. So for a 6" aero, 3 inches from the wall minimum. Quote 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log

Would there be a noticeable difference if for example with that 6" aero i had 4-5" away from the wall instead of 3"? thanks! blazron22z Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 i heard the diameter of the aero so if it is a 4" aero it should be atleast 4" away from the wall Quote

It is the minimum distance, not max. More is better. . . If I was using a 6" aero, I would stay 5-6" from the back wall.
