Ok guys i needs your help, i am trying to figure what is the best way to take apart without breaking a 78 turn signal to clean it and freshen up, And what is the best way to put them back together. I can post pics up if needed.

yeah, i wanna take them apart and paint the tan part high gloss silver and clean the lens up a bit,

yeah, i wanna take them apart and paint the tan part high gloss silver and clean the lens up a bit,

The best and easiest way is to put them in the oven for a few minutes at around 350 degrees or so and then it will warm them up the glue enough to pull them apart.

The best and easiest way is to put them in the oven for a few minutes at around 350 degrees or so and then it will warm them up the glue enough to pull them apart.

Just make sure when you put it back together, you make sure everything is 100% right, put it back into the oven, let it heat up and seal it back up.

Its okay to do this to a 30 year old part lol.

Look around on the internet but ive seen it done in a magazine im thinking truckin' and they did it to a older truck for the headlight assembly so the could have a clear lens and do projection headlights. ill look around but all you need to do is heat it up enough for the glue to seperate, even a heat gun would probably work good enough.

EDIT: and ive also seen people use a piece of plexiglass and made their own clear lens for it and put it back on and it looks alot better

thats the way Ive done my past two sets of headlights, heat the edge and pry with a flat head screwdriver VERY slowly and its should come apart.
