maniac74 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 1st full day of having the fi q 18 in and on the way home from work i was gettin it pretty good and i believe i smelled coil? is it normal to smell it when pushing 800 watts to this sub? it has the bp option aswell, even though it doesnt sound clipped would that cause it? I was pretty sure it was the glue burning, but in the back of my head thought it was the coil. It stopped like 2 days later, haven't had any smells since! Slope Switch – Used to select between a 12dB/octave Butterworth or 24dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley filter.does anyone know what this does? its on a fosgate t5002 amp. It stopped like 2 days later, haven't had any smells since! this is a used sub i bought from tristan, i don't believe he used it cause he took it on trade, but i dont know how much play time it had on it, it's pretty stiff. That song is way low too, you gotta be doing something wrong in there, cuz I can play that song without any weird noise/smells. No clue what's going on though.
