meade916
just curious as i see lots of people still living under mom and dads roof and buying lots of stereo equipment, rims etc and basicly living it up with no responsibilities. I mean if your still in school and under 18 this doesnt apply to you, i am asking some of you who are 21 or more and still in momma birds nest I grew up in a good home with a loving family but when i was 17 going on 18 i couldnt leave fast enough...are times different? or are some of you just like me? Thats probably why it took me till my 30's before i could start buying as much crap as i do now.....years of hard work out on the roof, raising kids, supporting pregnant wife 2 times (her not working during) making car payments, rent (now mortgage) and everything else seems to make it hard to keep up. Sometimes i WISH i had nothing but me and the clothes on my back that momma bought for me - and my toys.....i could live so large!!!!! not ranting, just curious i wouldnt change a thing about my years except having a kid before i was ready and paying 18yrs of child support... Yea it was a big sense of freedom when i moved out and into a house of my own. not that i couldnt come and go when i wanted at my parents but i just liked the fact of saying im living on my own and pay my own rent. Made me feel better about myself being able to say that to people Quote "WHOEVER SAID MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS MUST OF BEEN BROKE"
white4d96
I am currently 18 and about to graduate high school. I would like to move out but at the moment I do not have a steady job. I also have to take college into consideration, although my parents are not supporting my education. Hopefully next year things look a little better money-wise and I may move in with my girlfriend, who is renting with friends at UWM. Two of them should graduate this upcoming year so they will have a few openings. As for my stereo equipment and 'toys,' I use proceeds from installs and other odd jobs to pay for the bulk of it. Sometimes my mom will throw me a little money as a birthday gift or whatever; for example, she gave me $50 towards my new woofers for my birthday (and my sister a $130 DS ) Quote Too many projects, too little time... I was working at 15 from necessity. The school saw me as bright young potential and shoved me off to tech school, which was 30 miles away, and call it part of my high school credits. So i was in high school, in tech school, driving a truck that got 8 miles per gallon that cost $500. Working 6 to 8 hours a day depending on my schedule.
