PUNKYOU007
I have a buddy that currently owns an AP 1500. He wants to either buy another 1500 or buy a 3000. First question, there is no difference is there, I mean he might as well just buy a second 1500. Second question, with box rise, do you think he could run either setup at 1 ohm. He has two 4 ohm DVC subs. Quote Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. Only problem is that it makes me horny and gives me the rams. So unless yall wanna fight and then have some great make up sex i will leave it home. thebiggmann12
the amps are not rated to do 1 ohm. he either needs to get new subs or 1 big amp that is rated at 1 ohm...i think audiopipe makes a 3500 watt amp for a pretty good price that is rated at 1 ohm. kl0wn
I'd just sell the 1500 and buy the 3000. Just make sure you wire the voice coils in series and the speakers in parallel so he'll get a 2 ohm load. But...if he has the balls, he can try it out at 1 ohm. Just because a company does not rate an amp that low does not mean it cannot run it. Hell, the kicker amps are rated @ 2 ohm, and I was running mine at .5. Never messed it up, just went into protect after long hours of playing (but that was when I had an old ranger with stock electrical, not even big 3 done). So...being safe is selling the 1500 and buying an 3000, or he can grow balls and try out the 2 1500s @ 1 ohm.
