Switchblade
Yes. Don't buy a prefab off ebay or something. It won't have the correct volume, port area and will be tuned way too high most likely. Let someone who knows what they're doing build you a box, or buy a design and build it yourself if you have the tools. I don't personally but I have friends who build their boxes. Where would I find these plans then?
R_Mac_1
There are people on the site that do designs for money. Not sure how much, but it shouldn't be much for a design. Or you can contact MTX and ask them for box specs. walkingfreak
Like I stated, i'm an audio noob. I'd like to get into it and learn, though. I recently had a setup: 2 12" Type R's with a 1000 Watt Alpine amp but ended up selling it. I had those in a slotted box. (Slot was in the middle of the 2) I've recently upgraded to 2 MTX 8500 15's. I'm wanting to know whether I should run them in a ported box, or a sealed box. I have a 2000 Lincoln Town car if that makes a different on my choice. Any advice would be great, thanks. Defintaly ported tuned around 35hz and it will be so damn loud a guy by the name of twisted would say the same thing
