RE-covering a box

well im going to re-cover my box, before it was carpet, now im gonna cover it in bed liner

my old carpet on the box eas torn and ripped and just looked like straight ass, and i wanted to change it up so im gonna be spraying bed liner over it

ive already pulled the carpeting off, but now i need to shed away the adhesive/some of the access carpeting

i have a belt sander but the adhesive just keeps smearing and shit, would it be ok if i used goo gone on MDF to help break down the old adhesive?

that or the wallpaper removal stuff should work just becareful cause mdf likes to absorb everything liquid.

alright thanks, i was just curious cuz i know goo gone can damage some shit so wasnt sure if putting it on MDF would damage it

If tou have a D.A. orbital sander use that with a 36 grit paper. the belt sander just heats it up and melts the glue. Finish your boxes in 36 grit (not to Fine) body fill your screw holes. and get the basic shape. I use RAPTOR bedliner spray. It is a two part system Color base material and hardener. costs about 120-140 for the gun and enough to cover about 4 dual 12 inch woofer boxes ported. You can also get it color matched at a body shop supply store.(close but not exact) this is what it looks like:

but im just covering it in that spray bedliner from pep boys for now, dont got that much to spend on a gun and shit lol

and the only sander i got is a belt sander 3"x21"

which is beginning to work fine, im using 50 grit
