Switchblade
Is this a reasonable price? Seems a little high. This would be for a box built factory specs for 2 8500 15's. I believe he said most, if not all would be 1". I wasn't thinking i'd be spending that much on a box, but I will if it is honestly worth it. If not i'll look other places. chapo123
depends. would he fiberglass the inside? carpet? how many boxes has he done? does he brace it. double baffle? 45 the corners? most i paid for a box custom box was 80 but it was a basic 2 12 box Quote Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked. i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat 2 sa12s, saz1500 build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91183-chapo123s-sundown-build-log/page__gopid__1250604entry1250604

I'd supply the vinyl. He's at a reputable shop. He said the supplies would be about 100 alone ... No idea about the rest of the details. I'm pretty new to the audio game. chapo123
although shops are good some not all but some tend to over price their stuff. i say just try to find someone who does boxes as a side thing. they normally do it cheaper too. and 1" is a little much 3/4 would be good. and mdf is cheap. go to craigslist and look up custom sub box. there should be some people. and make sure to ask them the questions i asked you. although you might not need the fiberglass. this guy that builds my boxes builds boxes for 8 0 sorry but if i put it normally it makes this face 80 lol where you located? i can help you search on your local craigslist. just make sure they know what their doing and have built alot of them. make sure they use mdf 3/4. and they send you a design. to show how they are building it. any more questions pm me. No idea about the rest of the details. I'm pretty new to the audio game. this isnt a bad thing, but shops need to make money. i find the price to be a little steep but if you dont know how to make a box you really are limited in the options available. if you feel frisky, try making it on your own. it can seem very daunting at first, but you could start by making smaller test boxes to get the hang of it and then tackle your task. in my opinion, if you cant make one your only choice is to pay someone else to do so too. you might check some other local forums or the auto services on craiglist to find maybe someone else who could make one for cheaper.
