99GPGTX Posted April 26, 2010 Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 ...or open anything at all.. i have a vid uploading but when i try and open, for example, Firefox it will bring to me a screen that asked me what i want to open the file as...so i click on firefox, and nothing happens. if i try to open my control panel and add/remove programs it will say "application not found" some say that other ask me what i want to open the file as. i try to open itunes and it will shoot me down. now when i go to my files and go music, album, song, open with, itunes. Itunes will open. wtf is going on? Run combofix, it scans for rootkits and whatnot, and will reset some of the defaults. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe From here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix It's good stuff, should work. msconfig might not do anything because it seems to be within the shell, not running in the background.
