stephenes89
Hi, I have an Soundstream SPLX 12" dual 4 Ohm, and it is frozen solid, would that mean the voice coils have just superated? or is there more to it.. and putting aside the cost, would I be able to replace the coils? I still have two of the 12's workin great but, I just wanted to see if I could do somthing with the frozen one other than trashing it. STEvil
You can have it re-coned. New cone, spider(s), and coil. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
