Skullz
Use your finger and tap around the speaker next to the surround on the cone and if you hear metal to metal contact you'll need another sub, Its the coil rubbing on the pole as it travels up and down. No sounds like that all. This is the most awkward problem I have ever encountered. JZeFF
Haha, the believe it or not i had a reason to ask. In my first set up i had a very small 2 seated car with no trunk. All i could fit was a small sealed box. I was told to line the interior of the box with Polyfil to "trick the air into thinking there was more space" I am not sure if that actually works or not... But i will never do it again.. Some Polyfill got sucked into the motor... got on the coil... melted on the coil.. made the eact same noise you are describing.. haha. xXx iKoN xXx
I just wish I could figure this out. I have had no problems with it until yesterday. And it has been pouring rain here all day from sun up to sun down so have not had much time to fool around with everything. Skullz
Where is the noise coming from, the top, bottom or middle? maybe a loose dust cap thats flapping away. xXx iKoN xXx
It was hard to tell. I believe the top. I know when I pulled the sub out there was somehow to screws on the magnet. xXx iKoN xXx
ok so it sounded as the sound was coming from the middle to bottom. anybody have any input on that. I really want to get it fixed so I can put 4000 watts in my civic if not i will be running 2200 which still has people covering there ears but i'd rather the 4000.
