help with figuring out design

Recommended Posts

hey guys i just sold my blazer and picked up a avalanche so i have to make a new box for 4 12" no my problem is that i cant design the box to have all 4 subs on one side of the box so i was thinkin of doin a box like this subbox-1.jpg. my question is how do i design it, do i just calculate like a normal boxed box or is there some trick to it?

Yes, but when you calculate the port length, it is not a slot port, it is just a standard square port.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

not to thread jack but i had a question as well. Would the subs nearest to the port cause any type of turbulence issues or cancellation problems being that close to the port?

Build in progress:

Kenwood DNX890HD

Rockford Fosgate White wolf RCA's

2 Rockford Fosgate T400.4 on RF fanatic q components (6.5 in the kick, 6.5 in the front doors, 5.25 in rear doors)
2 Rockford Fosgate T2500's on sub

1 Fi car audio Team 15 D1

XS Power D3400 and three D975's in the rear

Mechman Elite 370

Stinger power connections and cable

I have built at least 2 like this. For daily/music, it will work fine.

You can also just have the 2 subs on each side on the same baffle (no angle between the two subs on the same side).
