I heard about that lead slap using the Extreme Leads for a daily driver sub...But as far as the Leads breaking and spiders crapping out no..My Fully loaded BL 15 is an awesome sub..I don't have the Extreme Leads or the Spl option..I have the Daily option...You might want to contact Scott at FI and see if he can do anything for you..I hate to hear you are having trouble with yours...I just put around 1700 to 2000 watts on my sub yesterday and all it did was heat my speaker up a little..I could smell the voice coil..But I quickly turned it down...Hope you get your issue's resolved... Guest dropthabeat.com
yeah i talk to Scoot today, hopefully he's working today. i like to use mine for a daily driver, i bought this because i kept hearing they were pretty bulletproof. meade916
Looks like your amp matches your sub pretty nicely so im not sure what the problem is with the tinsel breakage. I do have some marks on the first spider of my subs. I dissected that one i replaced a few months back and came to the conclusion that it did NOT make it to the second spider at all and surely not the 3rd. It poses no problem to the sub whatsoever other then the mark it leaves. I think Scott is working on the problem though. I think my subs are holding up great for the amount of abuse they take and MORE THEN DOUBLE the RMS on them. They have lasted almost a year and only one casualty and the coil itself was still in perfect condition i just broke the cone clean off of it Sometimes 5,000 watts to a 2,000 watt sub can do that Not a day goes by that i dont let my system rip so im happy with the results. Amalan
yeah fi needs to think of something to do with their tinsel leads the padding on my cone where the tinsel leads are is wearing down pretty fast and soon its going to punch thru the cone... meade916
sorry, but you have nothing to worry about. The tinsels will not go thru your cone. Amalan
really? everytime i take it out to look at it, the padding is gradually going and its almost at the cone... maybe it stops at a point but it seems pretty close to the cone right now so im kinda skeptical. meade916
i dont even have pads on mine and its not going thru. THe pads you have are made of felt and are probably getting "stringy" for lack of a better word......but the tinsels arent going to go thru your cone. If you really dont like your sub, why not sell it and get something your happy with? I know im gonna keep mine because they are the best for what im doing with them but maybe its just not working out for you.
