So I really want to buy myself a nice flip out deck for my Ranger, but im nervous that the bass and the amount of dash movement and shaking I get will cause it to eventually malfunction/jam. Anyone have any experience with flip outs in situations with lots of bass and flex?

Mine has no problems at 152 on music. No skipping or damage, and it still operates fine. Even burping at 154 it doesn't do much.

Eclipse AVN7000 is my unit.

I've read on the forum about flipouts breaking a lot. Idk if it's from bass though

I have a "friend" guy I work with. His kenwood kvt-516 is basically laying loose in his dash. Not secured at all, you can pull it out. He's ghetto. Very... But he's had it like that for almost two years and it still works like new.

Was on my mobile earlier. Just now got on the computer and saw your sig. You got a Ranger! Definitely go double din. My brother's got a 97 and is probably putting a double in his eventually. I don't know how exactly but I know on the Http://www.ranger-forums.com it has been done before. Not a whole lot of work to get a double din mounted in your truck. Will also look "cleaner" installed.

EDIT: found the link for you http://www.ranger-forums.com/f43/how-modify-your-radio-bezel-fit-double-din-radio-104570/
