Help Please.

Okay, my roommate found a piece of 1.5-2 feet piece of 1/0 wire laying around. So we thought it might be a good idea to upgrade the battery negative to chassis ground wire because stock is like 10-12g. We didn't take the stock wire off. Stock battery negative to engine is like 8g. Previous owner put 4g from alt to starter, starter to battery.

So here is the problem, his subs aren't hitting as hard as they were (didn't change any amp settings) and his headlights are dimming a lot more than usual. What do you think it could be?

Maybe since he disconnected the negative on the bat, it reset his h/u settings so now they're back to normal. Did he have the bass turned up on it before?

None of the h/u settings changed. First thing we checked when everything was put back together.

Bass was not turned up. Down at I think -2.

I have a similar problem, i did my big 3 in knu 8 gauge klmx, and until today i never ran a run to the alt from the batt pos. Now while i was checking the battery voltage under loads, the voltage goes down more than before the run to the alt from the batt.

Just try taking the 1/0 off and see if it goes back to normal. If it does then leave it off.

Exactly what i thought, i didn't replace the stock wire, just added the 8 gauge. I even soldered the terminals on and made sure the rubber grommets covered the terminals.
