if you did sound deadening i would concentrate on road noise not the trunk. simply because your not going to be moving much air, but it will keep road noise from over powering your speakers.

I'm still new to all this, can you explain to me exactly what "fade" is.

I'd wanna run a 5 channel one day but not with this setup/car. I originally just wanted a CD player but got the speakers as a gift so I'm building off the budget setup I have.

I don't think I'm gonna get an amp for the speakers now, just the sub/amp pkg. All I have to do is wire it up.

Is there anything else I would need? As in any other wiring or a new battery? I don't want my car shutting off on me. I usually listen only when driving and with me and a few friend with the windows up, I don't open everything up and bump it so I'm not looking for loudness.

I don't think crutchfield throws in a amp wire kit. I just order some stuff for my uncles corvette, deck, amp, enclosed sub, and wire kit. We also got all this on a $600 budget. You have a deck and speakers already! You should be able to get some decent stuff for $500. Also, put the deadener on your doors, and maybe the floor in the front. It would be kinda of a waste in the trunk, with such a small sub. Anyways good luck on your lil build! We love pics here!!!

I think I'll go with setup 2. Option 1 is my backup.

Option one:

-Sound Ordnance B-8 P (8 0) -watt powered bandpass subwoofer.

Option two:

Box (sound ordanance bass bunker)

Amp kit (best buy)

Question:

1. Will the sub be 2 ohm stable if I run it like " 55x4 @ 4ohms and 300x1 @ 2 ohms. I don't wanna stress it and have it break.

2. Is the RE8 the same as the REX8D4?

3. Anyone recommend ported over sealed?

4. Will I need anything else like speaker wire, or to upgrade "the big 3"?

5. What gauge amp wire? Is 8 okay? I saw someone mention 4.

Any other advice or recommendation at all. This total just under 400 which is awesome.
