Want to upgrade subs....need suggestions what to get next

Recommended Posts

I currently have a AQ hdc3 and a ED 9.1 powering it in a box built to spec (2.5 cubic. 38hz)

I'm looking to get MORE bass though, this isn't enough. I want it to be pretty loud, not crazy like 4 15's or anything, i just want more "boom"

only problem is, is that i am not changing the amp (my car can't handle any more power), and its going in a honda civic so a big box is not possible. i am willing to give up trunk space, but not the whole trunk or a wall or anything crazy.

so should I go with:

2 12's (600+ RMS a piece)

2 10's (600+ RMS a piece)

1 15 (1200+ RMS)

2 15's (600 + RMS a piece)

which subs/box should i get? I would really prefer a nice Sonic electronix box or even a built package like the 2 L7 10" with a prefab box from kicker. i know prefabs aren't good, but the ones im looking at have good cubic feet, ported, 3/4 MDF not cheap wood, and seem to be good quality overall.

so reccomend me any subs to fit the RMS ratings and space.

I was thinking of:

2 JL 15's

or 2 L7 10"

let me know, i just want to be as loud as possible in my trunk car, while not getting a bigger amp.

also, my budget is around 500 for all give or take.

F/s: 2 custom made boxes, for 1 12" and 2 12" hit me up I'll let em go cheap

Here are the ones I have been looking at for around the same budget. I am going to build my own box and you should too.

a pair of FI SSD 12's (800 rms each)

where can i find DC's prices they arent on there site?

EDIT: and wont the Fi IB3's be louder since it has 8 more mm Xmax?

Those are meant only for Infinite Baffle setups, not for box applications.

will 2 JL w3's be louder than my current setup? considering there going in a nice big memphis box ported.

i will be running them at 900 RMS, will they be good with that?
