EclipseChris Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I mean I hate to say I wanna save money this bad but I do. I don't care about how loud it is, I prob. will rarely go above normal listening volume. The amp kit by other brands are like 90$. the other kit I had in mind was the EFX which is still my scosche. I mean I'm making like 200watts here, should that kit be okay compared to ur system? I am using a pile... i mean pyle amp. Before i got RF the amp overheated like every day at my cruising volume, not with RF i have not overheated the amp once. I even had the system at full tile for like 45 mins playing everything from classic rock to rap/hip hop. I understand your gonna do a lil cheap system but i recommend doing it right the first time instead of doing it(i don't wanna say wrong, but for lack of a better term) wrong several times. This is all just my opinion, take it however you want in the end its your opinion that counts. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. Eclipse build Old New V-Dub My feedback.
TLEJ Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Look, there's nothing wrong with Sony Amps for a small setup. It does get pretty hot when bridged, but I had it full tilt, gains all the way up, and going for like 2 hours straight. Still works fine.
ant the ninja Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 My friend had a 1200max sony amp and it was pushing like 200w, It was awful. 2002 Ford Explorer XLT Front Stage: Crescendo CCX 6.5's Rear Stage: ??? Two 15" Powerbass M154 Audiopipe AP15001d Pioneer DEH-P5100UB

I'm fine with getting either amp but do you think the dual will be okay compared to the sony? I'm running like 200watts RMS. thats it. On a single 10. I'll look into it more. I'm just under a budget. If I can find a good amp kit for the money I'll get one but if not I'll prob. get the scosche 6g. BUT: What do you think about this kit? This better? It has the 2 RCA's I need. http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Amp-Installation-Kit/DB-LINK-4-GAUGE-4-CHANNEL-CAR-AMP-INSTALL-KIT-4-CH.-RCA/XK4B2.aspx They see me Corollin, they haten.... build thread: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/103833-corollin-with-my-audio-build/
EclipseChris Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 no I mean I see ur point. I'll look into it more. I'm just under a budget. Would u even suggest the scosche 4g amp kit? If I can find a good amp kit for the money I'll get one but if not I'll prob. get the scosche 6g. For something small i would recommend looking around for some name brand 8 gauge, Rockford at bestbuy (if your lucky) or something from an electronics shop. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Thats what ive heard to get from people on here and from crutchfield but a lot are saying that 8 is too small. I posted it above but I'll post it again, what about this kit? http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Amp-Installation-Kit/DB-LINK-4-GAUGE-4-CHANNEL-CAR-AMP-INSTALL-KIT-4-CH.-RCA/XK4B2.aspx the reviews seemed rly good. Also this is my last amp resort, I can't rly spend more than this on it. What do you think? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_099EA4200/Eclipse-EA4200.html?tp=35782 That amp with that amp kit right above to power a single 10inch pioneer tsw252r? If you do get a kit from the internet check out knukoncepts, just don't get anything that is copper clad aluminum. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. It comes up to like 50$ which is worth it imo. This should be a safer bet than the scosche. Also, Im getting to much of a split on the sony amps. And I just found out that this eclipse amp has free shipping offered and is as much as the dual. The reviews look great and it's a D class. I think it'll go with this amp depending on what everyone here says, so lets go back to the original topic, can you tell me what you think of this eclipse amp? It JUST fits into my budget. BCarter Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 look at how much your spending for it at wal-mart..now go to millionbuy or sonicelectronics ans spend the same money for a lil more quality or power. Now will the sony work? yes, but it may not be what your looking for any you may get disappointed. If i had no choice but to get an amp for walmart, i would go for their jvc or pioneer camp. i used the jvc 300/2 on my twelve for a few months when mt amp got stolen; and it was not too bad and then put it on my highs after i got a new one. eclipse has great quality parts.
