ive never heard one before and ive heard straight piped trucks and cars and wondered if grand am's would be a good canidate for a straight pipeing ive got the time and ambition to do so whatcha guys think

what year and what motor?

i have a 1995 with a 3.1 and i got a side pipe on it with no muffler just cat and resonator and its not to bad sounding

1998 gmc extd cab

12 crossfire C710s

4 SAZ-4500s

3 Singer 400A alts
buncha mids/highs

its a 99 and its got the 3.4 v6

keep the cat and resonator and use a 2 1/2 inch pipe then 3 inch tip or bigger

ya itl just sound like a pissed off weed wacker if you just ran nothin but pipe. gotta have something in line to mellow the sound out some. i had the same motor in my monte carlo and i just cut the muffler off and split it into duals and used 4 inch tips. sounded pretty good for what it was. :good:

Im Never a fan of straight pipes... a Flowmaster or borla is nice though.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.
