jonathancullen89 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 alright so i just bought a 92 blazer s-10 imma be using for my bass vehicle (runs, stops, has ac, windows dont go down. 135k miles $350 woot!) well the truck is always anywhere from ~15-15.5 volts. i have my 1000 watt sony hooked up to my 2 10" orion hp10d4's and the amp gets pretty damn hot. it hasnt went into protect mode at all. at first i thought it was the ground. my first ground had a 7.9ohm resistance. fixed that by running a ground from battery back. that is what i thought the problem was, cuz in my gf's cavy it never got hot. so questions are why does my truck run at such a high voltage, and is this why the amp is getting hot? thanks 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
