What do you guys think of this? I guess I plug these into the back of the pre amp outs? so then it's like I have 2?

Thats pretty much the same thing. Only reason i would even remotely say could cause a little prob is now you have 2 sets of rcas running to the amp so youll need another set of rcas and a little more chance to pick up noise. No biggie at all either will work, but if you use the ys at the amp you have one set of rcas and 2 y splitters thats it?

I'm buying a 4 channel amp kit. So I have 2 sets of RCA's. Thats enough right?

B/c when people say sets do they mean how one cable has 2 rca's at each end or literally a set of 2 cable?

Is this your first amp install? A few tips if it is

Keep low level away from high level i.e. rcas away from power and spkr wire

scrape paint away from grounding area keep grounds as short as possible

make sure your polarity on fronts is correct/ wrong polarity=no mid bass

nothin special but it will save you time and noise in the long run

O man I think that explains it! I feel my car has very little mid bass and thats prob. b/c I installed the front speakers wrong. lol ok. THANKS! I'm debating doing it myself or taking it to a shop.

I'd be putting in a 10 inch sub also. For the install I've been quoted 160-180$. Is that the avg. price? I was told like 90$ originally but then I mentioned I wanted the other 2 channels wired to the front speakers and thats apparently add the rest on.

btw, the guy at crutchfield said I should get a ground terminal. Is this needed? B/c it's like 12 bucks and then shipping. So if this isnt essential or like a really good safety measure I don't wanna get it.

if you dont want to spend the money no. just get a bolt or screw the same diameter as the ring connector. Its best to ground to the frame if possible but not always necessary. Just make sure if you ground to the body under carpet somewhere scrape the paint clean past the primer to clean metal, dont ground to painted or dirty surface.

Watch, now the whole seatbolt or seatbelt bolt vs. body vs frame debate will start.

Yeah that price is right in line. Its usually cheaper if you buy the equipt from the shop, not much, but a little.

This is a real good forum(SMD) for getting started with building your first or most recent system, from what i have read there are quite a few very knowledgeable people willing to help. Im always stoked to see someone that wants to learn(and doesnt have any bad habits from previous teachers) you could prolly do it yourself but if you feel more comfortable have someone else do it then take it apart to see how they did it.

Have Fun
