i didnt read all of the responses, but why not use a spray adhesive for it all?

work in 1 sq foot sections at a time. spray down 3 or 4 heavy coats of glue and start sticking away.

when you're done, you can pour some clear polyurethane over the whole table to smooth it out and make it waterproof. you could also use silicon, but that'll likely be too "sticky"

any updates?

Yeah, had someone give me a box of 890 caps yesterday, so now I have just over 1200. Only about another 2000 to go.

I didn't think of that, that would definitely be the easiest way to do it.
