chapo123 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 okay so my brother just blew his type r 12, he was going to get another one but this one blowing sparked some ideas. his amp does 1139rms at 2 ohm and 1639rms at 1 ohm. hes already had 2 12 type rs and they slapped pretty good. after he got this amp he was planning to get antoher type r to have 2 12s again. but hes just wondering if he shoudl try something new. for the power rms shown above what 10s (that have to slap hard to make up for lost cone area) or 12s that would do pretty good with the 1000ish rms (what ever he decides to wire them at) his budget is 300ish. maybe 4 if they worth it. or should he just stick with type r's? its a 4 door car with trunk. we would build a ported box. i know you guys hate to see these kind of threads but im hoping im posting enough info. and btw no 15s lol. he only wants 12s or 10s. chapo123 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 the only reason i dont think he wants to do 1ohm is cuz his elc isnt all that great. he has a 140 amp alt (stock) and a hc800 in the back. stock batt up front..
