New speakrs, same problem.

Recommended Posts

Hmmm, where to start. Before I installed my new speakers I had a muffled like sound in my rear stage. Not too sure it it's the headunit, wiring, or crossover? Stock electrical and It's in a 97' golf 4 door. I installed some speakers today and put the new ones in the front doors, then moved the old ones from the front doors into the read doors. Same sound with new and old. It's like there is no tweeter, and midbass is muffled. There is a location from the factory on the door. I don't know if there is a crossover inside the panel or not. However I read the wiring diagram for the car and I believe it's hooked up right. Though there was one factory plug in each side of the front doors, and two plugs in each rear door. One Each plug in the back plugged into the stock speaker, one for the tweeter, and one for the woofer part.

The speakers that used to be in the front sound great, but once I put them in the rear stage, they sound muffled, low, and weak? I think the only alternative is to run an amp and get this over with already lol.
