Eric B
I would NOT switch, unless you went with a more powerful amp. That Sundown, will probably do the same as the RF, no difference will be noticeable... My T1000, only has 4gauge terminals on the amp... but I'm running 0/1 to it with a reducer and trimmed the ends down. that's why I said wait for the SAX-1200 because they can do about 1500@1ohm. And are wayyyy more efficient then the RF. 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals

This, and the sax 1200 should only draw around 120 amps compared to the 150amps your RF pulls.
imupabove
but that saz1000d still packs a punch right? it does 1000 clean rms at 12 volts? iDA-X200/Clarion EQS746 RF T500-1bd (2) 12" RF HX's Kicker 350.4 Alpine & Polk Speakers Stock electrical
JPagan
but that saz1000d still packs a punch right? it does 1000 clean rms at 12 volts? yes, I really suggest getting the sax 1200 though, since it does more power and will still be more efficient than the RF T1k. The sax 1200 is actually on presale right now for 315 shipped.

JPagan
Check out the presale thread, Jacob does a good job comparing the saz 1k and sax 1200 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/78448-sax-1200d-pre-order-open/
MrSoundz
There will not be much of a difference between switching out the amps. The older T10001BD was a great amp but as big as hell. Yeah I would switch strictly for convienence and ease of install. The newer T1000-1BD no way. I have one in my Z pushing 700 watts at 4 ohms and it is a monster. I also have the T1000-1BDCP and it gives me 1300+ watts at 2 ohms and 1 ohm. It has a circuit which keeps the power constant at impedance drops. Accounting for impedance drops the T1000-1BDCP will easily outdo the Sundown SAZ 1000D and 1200D. The Sundown SAZ 1200D may give you 1500+ watts @ 1 ohm but when the impedance drops not so much. However putting the SAZ 1200D against the T1000-1BD the SAZ 1200D will win easily. The extra 200+ watts that you would get from the SAZ1200D will not be that noticeable. MrSoundz
Plus the newer T1000-1BD is much more efficient than the older T10001BD. I used the older T10001BD so I can easily speak of the differences between the older and newer series.

Eric B
Still has a lil class b in it so its not gunna be purely efficient as a class d amp. I've owned rockford amps but will never go back. 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals
