basshead4life Posted June 5, 2010 Report Share Posted June 5, 2010 thats right i went to my second comp today and took first in my class again and second overall with a 146.8. gained 1.9 dB with my new box. went from 5 cubes @ 34hz to 7.2 cubes @ 38hz. was loud enough that i could only pull a 145.5 without the cd skipping so while other people were running i tore my dash apart to get the cd player out and hold it. no one could believe that i was only running 1000 watts, they thought i had amps hidden in the car. LMAO. but its all thanks to you guys, cause without this place and you people i would of been one of them bullshitting amp clipping teenagers that didnt know shit. lol. thanks guys Team S.M.D. Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1 - American Bass 500.1 - 60 ft of 3/0 -480 Ah of battery - (2) stock alternators (70 +90) - Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. As I was reading this I was thinking about how much this place has helped out all the people new to car audio and all the young people that have a true interest in this hobby and reminds why I like the forum in the first place.
