fecupe2001
Yes, those Rods are AWESOME, i always use them for bracing with great results, they don´t take any internal space and i even like how they look hehe, here´s a couple of pics of mines. Reallunacy
It's just a metal rod that has threading on the entire length. You just need to drill a couple holes in the box to put it in, then secure it with nuts inside and out.
TeejayBee
how do i use a thread rod if i want to brace from Top to bottom? i cant have that end sticking out on the bottom haha
bobonit
all thread is that like rods or what? Its like a long bolt without the head on it. Its "all thread". Any hardware store, Lowes, Home Depot, they all have it. I used oak dowel rods, screwed, glued and glassed in. fecupe2001
You could get double bafle on the bottom also i guess so the rod finishes on the first baffle i guess... bobonit
how do i use a thread rod if i want to brace from Top to bottom? i cant have that end sticking out on the bottom haha Yea, thats a tuff one. Only thing you could really do would be to counter sink the nut/washer on the outside so it doesn't stick out. With the dowel rods, I just have a wood screw from the outside so it doesn't stick out. The inside is woodglued to the inside of the box before I run the screw in. Then I glassed it after the glue dried. fecupe2001
I did one time for a friend what i said, got the rod from the top to the bottom, and then, got double baffled on both faces with the hole where the nut was, then filled the hole and carpeted the box Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. fecupe2001
Sounds good, if you wanna round the port also, you could do it with PVC as i did, secure it and that´s it, i have won some tenths on the TL by doing this every time, look at the sexplorer´s port: Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
