If you want something loud then, id say buy a 2.1 reciever then 2 towers with a sub... No use in looking at computer speakers unless its expensive.

IMO, coming from someone that's bought a Z-2300, a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system, and is currently using a receiver, either get the receiver and a couple of bookshelf speakers with a cheaper sub, or go the pro audio route.

The Z-2300 is by far the worst out of the bunch followed by the Promedia (which is fairly good for the price and what it is). The receiver I have is a midrange Pioneer, and I currently have a Dayton SUB-120 for the sub.

Sometime this fall (maybe a little earlier) I'm going to upgrade to a couple 10s run off of a Crown 202 and receiving about 400 a piece (not 100% set in stone). Should be fairly loud compared to what I have so far. Best part is if I ever outgrow this, I can reuse all of it. Can't say that about the Z-2300 or the Promedia.

EDIT: That's not to say that anything stated is /bad/ but there are better options.

You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive.
