Okay, I have been getting ahead of myself alot!! So I have the amp and all the electrical upgrades picked out.

Crescendo 3kwp I will be running around 3,500 rms daily

270 amp Mechman Alt with Big 3

I will start with a XS D1200 battery

Also 1/0 all around

I'm leaning towards the 21" just so I can say I have a 21" sub lol

I mainly want to blow my type R's out of the water.

Thats a tight budget.

Probably not gonna find any pair of brand new subs for that, that'll handle the power. So you could go used, or go with one great sub.

What did you have in mind as far as quantity and size?

And after impedance rise youd probably be lower than 3kw, not over 4kw.

Well, I've been debating on an 18" BTL, 18" Lvl 5, 18" Mayham *don't know the price yet on the mayham. I know they won't move a bunch of air but I'm hoping mainly wanting to do 1 sub so I can build a crap ton of boxes.

1 18" will move plenty of air and any of those choices will do good. I like the DC for holding up to abuse.

What is with people and wanting to build boxes... I want to build boxes, but in no way do I intend on doing it for myself... if you're going for spl sure... if you want a daily driver that bumps... just do it right get a general tuning area...

Whats wrong with building boxes?

I started when I was 12 in my basement and on my back deck with scraps of wood.

Now I am an advanced box builder and do them as part of my career.

Gotta start somewhere.

i think the DC XL will take that amp. save you some money too. just as long as you know what your doing.
