Long story short, I tried painting some plastic trim bits and it failed, fisheyes all over the place, poor adhesion, anything you could have go wrong, did. I want that paint to go bye-bye, but my usual trick of scratching it with a scotch-brite and blasting it with brake-clean didn't work. What would you guys recommend to strip the paint?

Also, what do you guys do to prep plastics?

Too many projects, too little time...

Your best bet is to wet sand the shit out of it with some 3M brand 80grit and then with some 600. Then try http://urethanesupply.com/storecleaners.php its an assortment of plastic cleaners. Anything to do with plastics use urethane supply company they're the best. The Scuff Magic is an abrasive cleaner but it will probably remove a good portion of the paint too. Check it out bro.

Id start sanding it off around 220 grit to strip it moderately fast. wouldnt use anything far below that since plastic has a nasty tendency to get brittle and rough so you would have to do a thin coat of filler to get rid of it.
