97SSBlazer Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 I have a 1997 chevy blazer. I modified the plug to fit the SQUARE plug that was used on the older chevy's. I also have the XS VCM. I am looking to spend about 300.00$ to 350.00. So what alternator should I go with? Iraggi,DC or XS? I need the best "bang for my buck", I know good alt's can be more than 300, but that's what I got. I would prefer it to be the "large" case style like I have now. lower tuning is just hard. BeatBox Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 id go with DC, im happy with mine and IT IS a bigger case like an inch wider. theres a local place here that does alt but they only do up 200amp alt's $1 an amp. finding a GOOD used one would be your best bet it would be in your price range. But these more expensive alts are worth the $$$. after trading my old and $65 I got lucky and got mine for dirt cheap
