Got a bad Virus

Recommended Posts

Ken did you get the crabs from that porn again? Haha. I have dealt with plenty of those viruses and it took me a few free programs to rid the computer of it.

hahah crabs

man, I had no idea there was THIS much support and knowledge on SMD about computers

Try and sell a speaker for $50 and you get no response, but post a ad for virus help, and get bombarded

lol

I was about to randomly go find a Computer Help forum, glad I didnt

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Just because its running, doesn't mean its on startup. Programs such as these will add themselves to startup EVERY time ..well...every time startup initiates. As I said, if its in the registry, you're fucked.

edit: does the OP know the name of the trojan? at least the alias that it uses? that would prove to be more useful instead of us doing some trial and error

Thats why I said delete it from the command location which will disable it from starting up again. How do I know, I've removed it from like 4 computers plus this one I'm on. Also, deleteing it from the registry isn't hard at all. Just gotta find the location, which is given in the "LOCATION" part of the startup tab, and delete it.

Anyways, do like what I said earlier (just write it if you have too, lol)

That's from my computer. YES it's still on my startup menu but it's not in my system anymore (I HOPE) and if it is, it's disabled. Anyway, you want to delete it from both COMMAND tab and LOCATION tab. To get to the registry, go to:

C Drive>windows>regedit

So you know, theres different folders. Based on where the location is you will see

HKLM - HKEY Local Machine

HKCU - HKEY Current User

HKCR - HKEY classes root

HKCC - HKEY Current Config

HKUS - HKEY User

Most likely it's going to be local machine or current user.

Confusing? Sorta. Lemme know if ya need more help :)

Disabling it there won't help any, it still is active in the registry and could be in other places being quite.

And if he does go in his registry and deletes the wrong thing his entire computer goes down.

Rest In Peace mother.

He can suggest deleting it from the registry, startup, and wherever the hell else, but it will still be in his hosts file and more than likely in a cookie. Hince it being a rogue piece of malicious software. :]

That's why I said it will still be quite even tho he deleted it from the registry or disabled it in the startup.

I've seen a few viruses like these on friend's computers and they always seem to hide int eh same folder. Head to My Computer, click your C: Drive, click users, pick your username, then go to the top of the browser window and click the address bar. It should show something like "C:\Users\Username". Then type in "\Appdata\Local" so it looks like this: C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Local". Now there's a good chance you might find some crazy-named folders/applications. Most of them should be things like Microsoft, Sony, Adobe, stuff like that. If there's anything that looks fishy, just toss it out. Also, dump your "Temp" folder in there while you're at it. Then reboot and hopefully you're good to go. I'm not sure if this will catch yours but I know of a few viruses I've gotten rid of by doing this.

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

Duno..not much else we can do without properly identifying the software..
