On a mono D amp that has 4 speaker wire terminals, would you get a 4 ohm sub and wire it to 2 for a 2 ohm load on the amp? And do that for both subs?

the reason the mono amp has 2 channels so you can connect 2 4 ohm subs with ease, run your subs parallel but make sure you run one sub to one channel and the 2nd sub to the other channel, the amp on the inside is actually connecting the 2 together to create a 1 ohm load unless your amp is rated for 2 ohm load...

even if the amp is rated for a 2 ohm load, it will still wire (2) 4-ohm subs to a 1 ohm load.

but like he said, the extra terminals are for easier wiring. both positives and negatives are essentially the same terminals, just connected together on the inside of the amp. if it was a real 2 channel amp, it would not be a mono amp

Just use all the terminals. The "two channels."

think logically, why would they do that if they only wanted you to use 2 terminals instead of all 4. the reason there are 4 is for ease of wiring. you can either wire woofers like this and take the final + and - and wire it to one + and - on the amp.

OR

you can wire each woofer like this and take the final + and - from each woofer and wire them to the amp so they take up all 4 terminals.

both of these ways will end up with a 1 ohm load since every single monoblock amplifier that has 2 sets of speaker terminals is bridged internally via parallel.
