Reaper
Orion tests there subs 400 watts over rec RMS. so the 12"/15" in version should be able to take 2500. and the 10" version should be able to take 2k.
BigRed
Yeah ummmm no. haha my bad i meant only 6050w that was a mistake on my part. here is the link http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Products/Subwoofers/SubwooferChallenge/ Quote Red
BigRed
I think he meant somewhere along the lines of 6050wrms.. And the sensitivity for the 12" is 83db IIRC.. 15" is 87db Edit: I have the 12" model and couldn't be more pleased. Just don't skip on the power you're gonna run to it!! Other people will recommend other subs, but if you go with the HCCA you will not be disappointed. Where did you get that 87dB info? The orion sit itsself says 30dB http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Products/Product.aspx?ProductID=515 Quote Red
huh?do-what?
Where did you get that 87dB info? The orion sit itsself says 30dB http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Products/Product.aspx?ProductID=515 the site may say 30, but if you click the orion link beside it, the owners manual says 87.4 db efficiency. Playa Named Joe
HCCA are power hungry, make sure you can give it a clean 2k rms. Quote 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
Guest
lol 30db efficiency. that would be a first. probably the only reason why that orion woofer could withstand that much power is because the enclosure is less than a cubic foot and its sealed. oh yea and the numbers they use for watts, aka "Peak Music Power Max Wattage" is basically Peak watts, which dont really exist. so half that and the orion woofer can handle 3000rms. and basically half every other number they have for the other woofers.
