Wilson
Ok folks, I'm about to do a major amp upgrade and I am considering an amp or two that like 16 volts (as well as others). What are the ways to do this voltage raise? I have never thought of doing this voltage upgrade until very recently, so any info would be cool, even if it's a link or something. Also, how do regular amps and the vehicle's stock electrical system react to the higher voltage? thanks, Wilson Quote Stetsom 11K2d 6-12" DC XL's 8 batts Ohio Generator alt 2 punch 400's, 8 goldwood 6.5's, 4 selenium st200's 2010 MECA AS1 champ 146.7 Team DC I'm on the wagon, driving a wagon! Ji553r
i think an MLA module thats the only thing coming to mind. i just know for the alternators they gotta be higher than the batteries so the potential difference in voltage it can charge Quote I don't fuck around. EricR
If you want to run your amps at 16v you will need a HO alternator, voltage regulator/control module, 14v batteries. You cannot charge 12v batteries at 16v. Hope this helps. Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? k3n12ock
You make it seem like it's that easy OP. I mean, you got to upgrade your alternators, get some huge batteries, and multiple runs of 0/1. I would think that's what you'd have to do FIRST. sactownstang
Unless your a very big competitor, I would advise u to not bother. It's not worth it for a daily driver! Good Luck
