gsxr71404 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 just blew one of my subs the other day. going with rockford fostgate subs this time. not sure to buy 2 ohm or 4 ohm speakers? the speakers i am looking at do have dual voice coils. my amp is a older kenwood kac 929.The KAC-929 is a two-channel amp with power ratings of 150 watts x 2 or 460 watts x 1 into 4 ohms and 230 watts x2 into 2 ohms...... help..... what ohm speakers should i buy???????????????????? 2 or 4?
EricR Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 If you get a pair you need d4, that way you could wire them to get a final load of 4 ohms. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
