would tuning a box to 30-32 hz be good to hit lows on screwed music but still be good with regular music? im trying to decide on what to tune a box to if i decide to build a better one for my xxx 15.

Well I guess punching a woman is a good way to test your strength! You never know how strong you are until you cold-cock a woman in the head and break that bitches jaw.

Next time she tries to punch you in the stomach, whip your wiener out and chase her around. Show her who's boss.

id say 35hz would be a good choice. 30 would give you more emphasis on the lows but i think the XXX speaks for itself so it wouldn't be too much of an advantage tuning lower just less high bass

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

the box i have right now built is around 36. i just wanna build a new one because i hurried through the last one and did it half assed. i think somewhere between 30-32 will be good.

Basically everything 30hz and above will be the loudest, I mean like 30-37 not 30-5million. You'll be able to play the mid to high 20's but not like you're gunna play whatever you're tuned to and a little higher. Thats how it was explained to me atleast.

Start out boxy, shape as you move along.

sorta depends on the vehicle and box size but ya your tuning frequency or sometimes a little higher is what you "peak" normally is. But the downside of tuning lower is lower spl. there's a point in every woofers output curve where tuning a few hz lower makes the peak lower but it doesn't make that freq louder if that makes sense.

As Mr. Emperor said, depends also on the box size, i wouldn´t tune under 35 hz if it´s a bix box with some nice power, if it´s a small box with a lot of power then yes i would tune around 32 hz, but having to listen c&s music all day long must be kind of boring bro, what´s the FS of those subs?

The FS on my AQ is 38 and when my box was tuned to 32, the lows KILLED! I loved it but was talked into tuning to 36, which I did. It got just a bit louder, but the low lows weren't. Now my box is 38HZ, 32HZ sounds like ass now. Basically, if it's just a daily ground pounder type, do 32HZ. If you plan on competing, tune to 36+.
