Lower than 32 hz? damn! haha, well it depends on the music likes, i love the lows but i love even more 41-44 hz frequencies, that´s why i don´t tune lower than 35 hz, if you want to kick ass the lows tune around 28 hz then, but you´ll be playing C&S music more than other other ahaha

So playing around with a few things, I came up with this. I would end up adding close to .4 cubes of bracing, and then extend the port another 8 inches to achieve the tuning of about 34hz.

How's it look? I figured it would be more difficult to slim the port down without busting apart the box, adding to it while keeping the original port area would be easier, and according to the calculator, very feasible. :pardon:

Looks good man, but it is easy for you to add more lenght to the port?? i would say it´s easier to shrink the port area a little bit, just add two 1" mdf woods on the wall of the port so you would have 58" SQ of port :)

Yes lower...tuning is also very vehicle and driver dependent. My box is tuned to 26...but I can still kill the 40's. My last few were tuned to 35, 32...but my subs seemed to lack in the low end dept. Threw this one in there and couldn't be happier.

Appreciate it. :) What i'm having trouble grasping right now is the whole shrinking of the port area thing. I have interpreted it two ways:

Shrink the width down a whole inch to 3. But, this would yield a port area of 15x3=45in^2.

or

Instead of .75 mdf use 1 mdf for the walls to give me a width of 3.75 as opposed to 4. Yielding 15x3.75=56.25in^2.

I may be missing something obvious here and would rather pick up on something I may not know, which is always nice. Or maybe clear up a misunderstanding? lol

Here's the deal. Since you are trying to tune lower, putting bracing in will raise the tuning, but will increase your cone control. Unfortunately, with that power, it won't control it enough to overcome the unloading with the higher response, so you'll need to reduce the port area.

Since you ARE running that much power, however, you won't have to follow any port size requirements. I say drop the air space as stated, close up the port a bit with either a divider or an extra port wall shooting for around 8in2 per cube, and you're golden.

Round out your ports as well to reduce some of the turbulence and maintain linearity.

I would try to shrink it to 15 x 3.5 , if you shrink the wide too much maybe could get choked a little bit? i would just add a .5" mdf on the port so it ends 15 x 3.5 , i said 2 1" to end 13 x 4 but you could get some cancellation maybe, who knows, once again, SHRINK THE BOX, forget about the port right now, maybe you´ll get a respond so flat that you won´t have to touch the port, my daily box is tuned @ 44 hz and that shit sounds awesome around 35 hz, as Tristan said, depends on the sub, just forget about any theory and try right now with the internal space, then worry about port area and tuning :drink40:
