break lights wont cut off

well ive had this problem with my 90 geo prizm lsi with the break lights not turning off and ive had this problem befor but it was were the break lights would stay on and when i pushed the break petel they would cut off, well i fixed this with a break light switch, and now its doing it again, and i changed the switch and still nothing

and now my moms geo prizm is doing the same shit with the break lights so i dunno what to do

anyone kno how to fix this for cheap, aint got the money to have a shop fix it but might have to have them fix it

did you mess around with the brake switch at the pedal? Push teh pedal down with one hand and push on the actual switch with the other hand? Get someone to watch the brake lights while you press switch. Good luck.

had this problem on my buick...ended up being a short in the third brake light wire

hmm, i dunno, wished they was an easier way to find a short in a cars electrical tho but i'll try and see what i can do

umm, what would cause the headlights to turn off when u cut on the turn signal? thats whats wrong with my sis's car but she wont let me work on it so i unno
