After cleaning out the car, later that night I went out to get the lower back seat shape traced onto the door panel, so that the speakers don't hit the seat. After I put the seat back I noticed this gap.

And I was like There's enough room to set the front of the box up just how I want to.

Then after I traced the back seat onto the door panel I decided to lay it out and take some pics of how I'm going to lay it all out.

Both doors together.

Tomorrow I'm going to see about getting started on my box. And I might... MIGHT order a circle jig to use with my dad's router, then I can get started on my doors.

Those door panels were nothing, Not even really fiberglassing, it was just resined polyester. I've never molded anything into something else, like molding the fiberglass into the door panel, as those were built to be two pieces. The most important part of the glassing, as I've learned, is building a proper sturdy frame to glass to, it all goes smooth then.

Started doing some work, but it's just too damn cold to stay out there and keep working on it. I'll get back on it earlier tomorrow and get started on the floor and start doing some of the fun shapes for the side. My goal is to have the box done by the end of the month, then I can start on my doors.

Anyway, here's what I got done.

Ah, spools. Most likely spools of wire, but what kind and how much?

Ah speaker wire. How much and what size? 14 gauge (more like 16 gauge) and... One thousand feet! Not dicking around.

Yeah it's eBay crap wire, but hey, it's a thousand feet and the highest amount of power that will flow though a line is about 120 watts anyway, as I'm doing 1 run for each speaker.

Well, a little update:

I started working on my switch setup for my windows. About a year ago I replaced my driver side front window regulator and motor and then my central locking and window control unit took a shit on me. So I had all working windows, but no working switches. So I decided to fix that. I got 5 DPDT switches and went to town on them, and this is what I got.

Had to bridge all of the connections. Basically a mini buss bar now.

All hooked up in the car.

And, what the hell, a short vid showing it all in action. Not really impressive at all, but it had to be done.

I just have to hook it all up to the factory relay and finish the switch panel up and then the only thing left to do is get the motor going. Then I'll be and it'll be back to the build! But before I get the motor reassembled the A/C pump needs to come out and my second alternator needs to go in.

Well, once the windows and central locking are fixed, then I have to take the turbo off and clean it out. Then I have to pull the head off and have a dye penetrate test done on it and if it passes I will have a few thousandths machined off to make sure it all level. Then I have to free up a stuck cylinder. Then the whole top half of the motor is being rebuilt. The gaskets anyway.

Then, as soon as I can afford it, I am going to rebuild the lower end of the motor with new rings, gaskets, seals, and bearings. I may even pull the head off again to do the whole valve train.

Basically, it will have all new internals by the end of the year. I want a solid reliable car before I start dropping thousands of dollars in audio in it.

Look what I picked up for a hundred bucks:

An RE MT 15. Only thing I hate is the fact that there are no specs available for it cuz they are built to order. Planning on doing 4.5 cubes, at 28 with as much port area as I can get. Got a real POS amp to throw on it for now, and maybe a small upgrade later. It seems to like playing in the mid 20s so that makes me very happy.
