got the last run of speaker wires done today, then started wiring up the speakers. I still need to make my A-pillar pods and kick panel pods and make a small tweeter pod on the door and finally wire up the doors and they will be done. Also on the list of things to do are to finish up my new power window switches and re-run the power wire under the carpet and the interior can go back in the car, well on with the pics.

Got 8 runs of 12 gauge speaker wires coming off of my 4 channel.

Then I hooked up all of the midranges and tweeters to see if they worked

I got it making sound today, from my friend's iPod, and it sounds good, but it had no midbass because the doors aren't hooked up yet. My roommates camera doesn't have a mic otherwise I'd have a video of it. Tomorrow I should have the doors hooked up and I'll try to get moms camera and get a video of it

Got the system playing today! It sounds pretty nice, but I didn't get to hear it with any real power cuz it's after midnight now. Tomorrow I want to take out the old power wire and run it differently, then I'll take the head unit out of the stinkin lincoln and play some music and make a video. Anyways, here are some pics.

In order to run the wires into the door, i had to drill holes in the door and car... That meant I had to take my doors off, not too bad, but now they need to be aligned 80

Behind the big tube is where my smaller tube that houses all of my speaker wires is.

I needed to make it so I could remove the door panels easily and not mess up my wiring, so this is what I did

I took some 4 pin molex extenders I had laying around

And I cut them in half.

Then I drilled 4 small holes for each one

And I pushed the wire through and hot glued them down. I used the male end for the back speakers, and the female end for the front ones, that way I don't ever get them mixed up, it shouldn't matter because I run my amp in 2 channel mode, but why not.

Anyway, hopefully I'll get a vid tomorrow and have my power wire re-ran, and the interior all back in, but I have some other stuff that needs to be done tomorrow also.

those pods look badass, so simple yet so effective, did you end up cutting holes in the back panel (the part sitting against the door) to let the midbass vent into the doors? youll get much better midbass if you do, those little pods will be choking the midbasses a bit

looks like glassing up all the midranges swill be fun too lol, definatly didnt keep those simple

Haha, yeah, lots of glassing to do, at least it's all simple glassing though. Pillars are going to be my biggest pain. I wish they gave some enclosure specs on the midbass speakers, I know it's not really necessary as they're probably designed for an infinite baffle setup, but it would be nice to know where to start with them. These door panels are just to experiment with, so I'll definitely consider cutting some holes in the back of them.

Started working on my pillars last night, they need to be glassed, but I do like them so far. Kinda goofy looking, but I like them.

After trying all sorts of different layouts and cutouts, I decided that simplicity would work the best. and I just used the midrange pods for mounting them.

Added a tweeter. Tweeters up high make a world of difference in the highs.

When I first put the midranges up there, I thought it was stupid looking, but after hearing what it sounds like, I started to warm up to it. With them up there it added a staging to my sound that I didn't have before. If you're thinking of doing pillars in your car, do it, it's totally worth it. Now these are going to be a bitch to glass in though... I'll be painting my door pods later, and I'll put some pics of those up.

I did some more work today, and I like how it turned out so far.

I took my door pods off and took Bobo's advice and cut the back out.

Then I resined up the inside of the pods to give them a little more strength, and the hold the front rings in better, since they won't be getting any more support from the back.

Then I painted them black, as I am doing a black and gray color scheme in my car

I think they turned out pretty nice. It sounds way more full with them in a more infinite baffle setup, but at the same time it seems a little peaky, but that just may be because I don't have my high pass filter tuned in right yet.

I got my speakers from audiosavings, I like them so far, but I've also heard good things about the Crescendo component sets. I am curious as to which actually sounds better, cuz the crescendos are actually cheaper, but they are a 2 way set, and mine are a 3 way. And I really like the three way set.
