need help before i go insaine

hey lads .

im scott from ontario canada .

and im a big fan of all you guys . i watch steve's vids on you tube all the time .

now ,

im use to 10 inch subs . i had 5 of them

but building thoes boxes wernt to hard .

but iv upgraded to a

cerwin vega stroker and this sucker was a nice penny to buy .

amp i use with this is a kaption audio d1000.1 mono block . that puts out a 1000 rms at one ohm

but anyways . on with the story .

i build some boxes and i cant seem to get it to sound like it should .

like it sounds like its sick or something . so i sent it back and they sent me a new one . put it into the box

samething . and that box was built to there specs . 2.96 cf

so i made a another box at 4 cf . im getting it to sound a lil better . but still sounds stupid .=(bad) lol

and so i made another box . ( this buying , 1 inch mdf is getting stupid . alot of money waisted so far )

so i bit the bullet . and bought 2 more sheets and built another box . that is about 6.3 cf , to try it out = banpass (yes i know )

they suck in my opinion . i like the sub to sit on the box not hidden inside . . and hitting the hatch or roof

but i do have the long rectangle deep port . but that port was in all my boxes .

now it sounds like i said not to to bad . but theres something missing . ( ow right the good sound ) lol hahah

so could you great guys/gurls

of smd help me out . cerwin vega specs are not for a huge space like i got . i drive a 98 dodge caravan . with the back seat out . so i have lots of room to play with

put it this way . my other 2 12 inch subs hit the same . as my cerwin vega stroker .. and thoes 12 inch are cheap walmart specials . i got to hold me

over till i got a new toy . (cerwin vega stroker) but its sad when walmarts subs that are 45 bucks beats my 2000.00 sub. wich i cryed since i cant get it to sound good .

i went to a local dealer . and they said they wernt into custome building boxes so they had no idea (they said they have them manufactured at the dealer) ( example = from kicker or something)

please lads . all the help would be great .

That is a of text brah. Not really enough info though if you ask me.

You could ask someone to design a box for you tuned to whatever Hz. Let everyone know what your build consist of. Is your electrical done right? How are settings set on your amp? What sub wire and power wire size are you using? How are you getting your measurements to do your own box?

just wondering if u paid 2k for the sub? also is it the stroker pro?

power power power... low power subs will always sound "better" on good power than a high power sub on low power.

heres some info you needed .

amp wire + is 0 aug

amp wire - is 0 aug

did the 3 upgrade to it .

0 aug the alt , moter 0 aug ground, and - battery 0 aug

speaker wire is a 10 aug

and its a duel voice coil sub.

power cap is 2000 ferrett

and running 2 batteries , both are deep cycle .

amp gain is at 3/4

freg responce is about a lil touch over half

head unit setting at 0 bass .

now the box cf i was doing it like this .

leanth * width * hight - thinkness of mdf divide by 1728

The12volt.com has calculators for port sizes maybe try to type your box info in and see if your port size is accurate?
