Alternator Slow To React To Current Demands.

So i installed my new 165 amp alternator and i must say i love it. but the problem im having is that when im at full tilt and the amp is drawing all the current, i will drop down to mid to low 12's for 2 or so seconds then raise back up to 13.7. is this caused by the alternator, or the fact that i only have one stock battery up front? i cannot play any song really that has fast kicking bass because i will automatically drop down to 12.0 from the alt being like wtf is this shit? and not reacting quick enough

Mine does the same thing - however im running stock alt and 2 batts.. Im worried when my 260a comes itll still do the same thing lol. I bet i'll still drop into the low 12's.. Thats just how my luck works.

thats exactly what i thought when i first tried it out, i was like WTF then on other songs it would "recover" and boost the voltage back up. except the guys that designed my toyota engine put the alt an inch from the exhaust manifold . heat + electricity = volt drop lol.

Mine does this too....I think it has something to do with the ECM controlling the alternator...

Ive read something like this on my honda forum... the guy said that unless he was drawing extra power (besides running the car) that his alt wouldnt charge .... try keeping your headlights on and see what happens.
