RE Subs. Known to blow the voice coil?

got a RE SX 15. older style not the brand new ones. i blew the voice coil out of it and i took it to a guy locally to see what he thought about it. He said RE's are known to blow the voice coils out of them. but i don't believe the guy half the time because he blows shit out his ass half the time. he's one that talks his stuff up that he's a dealer for and down on stuff he isn't but its understandable i guess. its business. i'm just seeing if i can get some feedback from you guys to see if you've heard f stuff like this happening or not. Any sub will last if treated well, and won't last if abused. You must have been clipping it or something. Don't ask him for advice again, boycott his shop too, these are the kinda shops that rip people off to make a bit of extra cash.

On the upside though, a perfect opportunity to upgrade!

yeah dude i dont get shit worked on there. i hate going there. but its got a one year warranty on it but the guy that i bought it from said that the dude who's shop he bought it from ran the state because he had 2lbs or heroine shipped fed ex to his shop door. but what you think about recoiling that 15. because i don't want to drop the dough for a new 15 even though my buddy said he'd buy me one because it blew up in his car with me not in there so let me know what you think thanks man.

Contact usampfreak here on the forum tell him I sent ya and he will be able to get ya running again... ANY sub can and will blow if not ran properly.... trust me I try to do to all the subs he sends me I don't always achieve that goal but its possible
