thebull1tt
I'm not here to argue. Just talk about my own personal experience with both products. The battery didn't work for me. The cap certainly did. That's all. This made me wonder why competitors don't use them? Maybe it's just because they get most of their equipment for free? I spoke with the owners of two reputable shops. They both said that the Alumapro CAP would out perform the battery and it did. What's the point in using batteries if they take too long to recharge? Maybe I'm asking the wrong question? Maybe it takes multiple batteries to get the results I am looking for from just batteries? I'm only running 1800 watts though. cqtama
you didn't answer my question though. how are you measuring your voltage? sure the cap will charge faster but its also going to discharge faster. if i replaced my battery's with any cap even the one your talking about i know i would be seeing dips probably into the 11's maybe even 10's. how many farads is said cap? EDIT: just re-read a 15-farad cap? sorry if you know what your doing no way in hell it out preformed that battery. again, how do you measure your voltage? thebull1tt
I took my measurements from a Snap On multi meter. With the battery, voltage went as low as 13.8 volts. Even with the regulated power supply amplifiers, there is a huge audible difference between 13.8 volts and 14.3-14.4 volts. I'm not pitching a sale. I wish you could have heard the before and after. skittlesRgood
a .6v increase would give you, at best, 100w. completely inaudible. ever think you had something hooked up wrong or loose? where was the voltage measured? front battery, alt, back battery/cap, or the amp? If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. thebull1tt
When the 2nd battery was in, I measured it at the battery posts and at the fuse block. With the cap, I measured it at the fuse block. Maybe, I got an old battery from SSA? There is no date on it. I charged it with an AGM safe (14.2 volts max)charger before I installed it. All I can say is that I was really disappointed in the performance of the battery compared to the cap. cqtama
and all i can say is i bought one of those battery's straight from xs power and when i installed it, it held 14 volts all day on twice as much power as you. but since you seem to have quite a boner for your glorified voltmeter listen to toady lol R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up. thebull1tt
Hooking them both up is next up on my to do list. At this point, I don't have room for both in my trunk. The plan is to rebuild my trunk and squeeze everything into the spare tire well next month or the month after depending on time. I'm hoping it will be pretty awesome with both. I just blew the tinsel leads through my sub's spider yesterday bumping Psyph Morrisson really hard so I need a new sub also. Any suggestions? I have an SQ setup and was running an Image Dynamics IDMAX12 in a sealed 1.3 cu. ft. enclosure. I really like the way that sealed enclosures sound. I am leaning towards a Fi Q with all the options right now. Does anyone know if the tinsel leads are stitched to the spider on that sub?
