I have 2 18" Fi Btl's fully loaded still got to build a box and get amps but I plan on running to cresendos 3k's. I have 2 sprinter 12v500f (165ah) batts plan on getting a 2000 kinetik for under the hood and a mechman 270a alt would that be good enough or am I going to need more??

someone correct me if im wrong...

14.4 Volts at 3000watts RMS = 208.33 amps... if you have a 4ch amp at 100 watts per channel.. 14.4v @ 400 watts = 27.77 amps...

your total amp draw would be 236.1 amps...

you should be fine...

Yeah you should be fine, might have to get 1 more. I would just to be safe, I like overkill when it comes to electrical.

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

he'll be running 2 crescendo's, so about 416 amps from bass!

yea those crescendos are a bit of a current hog but its sooo worth it. i would definitely look into a duel alternator set up

He has 2 Crescendos and you forgot to include efficiency. With the amp draw and about an additional 50amps for the car, you should get a dual alt kit (like Kranny said)
