is my electrical good enough?

so i did the big 3, i just used the wire i had laying around. its all 4 gauge. my wire to my amp is 4 gauge. i have a 1.5 farad capacitor. im going to be getting a fi ssd 12 dual 2 ohm with a flat wind coil. the amp in my price range i think thats worth buying is a Hifonics BXi 1208. that does 1200 rms at 1 ohm. the sub says 800rms but i think with the flat wind coil ill be safe to at least a 1000 rms an ill adjust my gains accordingly. id rather have a little to much amp than not enough. i have a stock honda alternator and just 1 battery, what will or should i upgrade to get that amp what it needs? im open to suggestions on different amps and or anything really with my planned setup?

Lose the capacitor. Its hurting you not helping. All its doing is giving your battery one more thing to power. Do the Big 3 in 1/0 too.

Replace the batt under the hood for a XS Power. Take out all the 4 gauge and replace with 1/0 and you will be set. Probably could ditch the cap too.

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

drop the cap, its unneeded, not sure how many amps a stock honda alt is, but i know the older models are around 90ish iirc , so toss an extra batt in the back just to be sure

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?

NO CAP...if ur planning on running 1000-1200rms for more than 1 hour constant do a big 3 in 1/0

amp...stay with hifionics. i am running on stock elect with a big DieHeard batt on a hifonics bxi 2610d in a 99 durango.

i can run it radio at half..mids/highs amp at 4-5 out of 10 and bxi2610d full gain full bass eq and bass knob all the way down for a full night(8-12 hours)w/ the truck off...and it starts PERFECTLY in the morn

when i didnt have the cap my current setup didnt sound as good so i think it will stay. i do recognize i need a better battery, or multiple. i used 4 gauge cause it was what i had and its short runs so id think its sufficient isint it? my longest run is 5 feet give or take. a couple inches. i havent measured it out exact. the long run is from battery to capacitor.

if its stock batt just go down to auto zone and get a duralast dt34 and re do your big 3 in 0/1 and u r set

as for the cap its up 2 u in my opinion

1) lookj to left

2) NOTICE BLKUE

3) ME > Y9OU

4) that is all

I'd hate to sound like everyone else, but if you got rid of the cap and put in a second battery you'd see more of an improvement. If you want to leave the cap in, I'd still get a second battery. it will even out your voltage drops better than the cap alone, and your alternator won't have to work too hard, unless you drive around all day with your system up all the way. You should really redo your big 3 with 0 gauge though, if you check this chart out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge#Table_of_AWG_wire_sizes you will see that 0 gauge has a much lower resistance and can handle more power. Putting 4 gauge on is basically just putting new wire in, not necessarily putting better wire in though. check ebay for 0 gauge wire if you're on a budget. once you do it right, it's a good feeling to know you don't have to do it again. Just trying to help!
