Update is non visual today, so i'm posting it here.

Friday i ordered a 140a alt, and less than an hour and a half later i got an email with a shipping code. Cannot complain about that, but im a lil worried... it said 140a, but it was bragging about "being capable of 65a at idle" but never saying anything about how or where it reaches 140a and i have no idea how to test it.

Any help?

after markets alts are known for having terrible idle ratings, when looking for a HO alt, dont worry about the say (275 amp) rating, worry more about the idle rating, that 140a is only gonna be @ 2k rpm.. stock alts have the best idle ratings, you can have a 350amp alt but it could have a 100amp @ idle, mechman has a nice alt thats like 200@ idle which is really good.

odds are, you wont be able to come across an aq4x90 only cuz theres not many out there and if they are, people dont sell them or want a lot of cash.. if you wait a few more months i'll sell mine for a wtf good price.

I don't mind revving for demos, and its a daily so i'm only gonna turn it up if im driving or demoing. And it was the cheapest thing i could find that didn't involve me getting (my only alt for the car i need everyday) my alt rebuilt.

its always better to buy a new alt, than to get a stock alt rebuilt

what kind of alt is it?
