Subs hum when ever the car idles...

Everything works fine when the car is on battery, but when I go to crank my car my subs pop(?) then just have a real low hum to them, until I cut the car back to battery. If I cut the whole car off, they POP right when the amps cut off.

I don't really know where to begin on how to fix this.. And I read somewhere that my RCA's should be ran on the opposite side of my power wires?

EDIT: (Some more info) I had a battery charger hooked up to my battery, and that caused it to hum when the car was off, but the electrical was on.

You need to remove the RCA's, power it on and see if the hum still exists. If it does it's your ground, if it doesn't it's your RCAs.

The pop could be related, but it could also be from your remote turning on your amps too soon or not enough power or... You might need to go with a relay.

Your sub sonic filter possibly is set to high on your amp. Or RCA from deck is bad

Ah! Genious UnderLoK.

I removed the RCA's from the amps, and there was no pop coming on, no hum, no pop going off.

So now what..? EDIT: Possibly the RCA's came loose from the HU?

Does it pop when you go from 0 to 1 back to 0 volume?

what is your ground bolted to? it should be bolted to a large thick piece of metal (preferably frame, and not a seat bolt) and have all paint sanded around where the lug would bolt to.

I am using a preferably cheap HU in this install, and forums say that is regularly pops when changing volumes. (0-1), (1-2), and so on.

My ground for the amps are in the same spot, bolted TIGHT to the chassis of the vehicle. The paint was sanded from the bolt, screw, and terminals.

Kranny has a point but this happened to me before and my subsonic filter was a lil high(the him noise) and my RCA coming from the deck was broken so I needed a new deck. I tried a relay on my remote wire and it did not work. And I also true grounding in multiple places, but always popped I came to the conclusion the deck was f*****

exactly what im thinking now after he said his ground was strong.
